Hey Joe....are there some players on the injured list?
ReplyDeleteNot our injured list. There are four inactive players on the Long Beach roster (Gallo, Hirsh, Lima, Kaplan)...The Outlaws haven't made a single roster move through a third of the season thus far...probably the only team to make no moves...which I think overall is a good thing.
ReplyDeleteSorry Joe, I have to disagree with you on this one.....
ReplyDelete"Overall" may be accurate, but consideration in terms of pitching (starting and relief)is certainly due. Stubborn is as stubborn does.
ReplyDeleteThe roster turned over after the exhibition game with the six additions from Yuma. But, since opening day, there haven't been any changes. Stability is a good thing I think. I don't expect us to go all year without any moves being made, but cultivating a clubhouse chemistry is an important asset the Outlaws have and some teams might not. Would you rather us be like Tucson, and have run 35 different guys in and out already?
ReplyDeleteNot true Joe.......although not many, there have been changes along the way. I do agree with chemistry, but you said clubhouse-need it on the field!
ReplyDeleteChange can be a good thing it's not always a negative as people tend to perceive-change is progress-there's alot of talent on the team that should be utilized as situations require.
There have been changes in the rotation, but not a transaction...
ReplyDeleteInteresting thread. Joe, I don't think a "fire sale" type of change has been suggested. As you said, "overall" the team is solid. Hitting is solid, defense is close, but pitching is suspect at least for half the starters and relievers. I understand this is a good hitting league, partly because of the quality of the hitters and partly because of the high American League zone but even comparatively with the rest of the league, the Outlaws have issues. Strangely the only two starters from last year's team who were in the GBL top ten ERA (Caughey and Fasking) were traded and apparently released respectively. Look, in the end it doesn't matter a whit what we have to say but true is true and as fans we tend to wonder.
ReplyDeleteWell put Mr. Saito....rotation/transaction w/e you wanna call it.
ReplyDeleteThey each bring something different to the game- you have to know where their strengths are and capatalize on it! That will = a winning TEAM not individuals.
You said you released players to pick up Yuma players, from what I can tell Underkoffer, Brown, Hale, Alvarado, Cull, Brown, Riley, White, Brandt and Shockey don't play often.
ReplyDeleteSo why did Chico release players if you're not going to play the players from Yuma?
OOps! I said Brown twice and meant White....
ReplyDeleteLOL...I mean Ryder....geez, sorry.

ReplyDeleteaww...whadya say and them remove Joe?
ReplyDeleteHaha..it wasn't anything too saucy. I'm just happy the rosters been intact all year long.
ReplyDeleteNo surprise there! It's called politics and job security.....LOL
ReplyDeleteWell to us fans it's obvious who is getting promoted and it has nothing to do with skill or stats!
