One In The Books...

Well...the exhibition game came and went. The broadcast, apparently, went out and never lost its signal. If it did, please do comment and let me know. I'm going to arm everyone with my cell-phone number from here on out, so that if there is an outage, you folks can call me directly in the booth and I can recalibrate it all in 30 seconds.

I'm definitely clearing out the dust bunnies. I apologize in advance for any unnecessarily disturbing audio level changes. My first not in Chico, and first night trying to run commercials and everything right there on my laptop in the press box. It'll only get better from here on out, that's what I can promise you.

Otherwise...a busy day, and getting ready to be a busy night. I'm cutting it close, back at the office writing this blog and a story for the website. Bus leaves fairly soon. Don't think I'll have a problem getting to sleep. Everyone got to the office and was spinning plates from 8 a.m on to the time gates opened. Now that I've got the first game broadcasted under my belt, I can sit on the bus for the next long while and rehash and think of better conventions. Read my notes as well.

Can't wait...I'm tired...we're all tired. A night to just chalk up to butterflies and experience, all the way around. But...catch you again soon in Tucson. Hope to have some good pictures and some even better broadcasts for you.

  1. Dust bunnies, huh? You did a decent job. Sounds like you could have used a little help and I assume that Joe Morgan was not available. Would have like to have heard a little more about the individual players on the Outlaws. Anyway, looking forward to the next web cast. Thanks.

  2. All in all a good first day. You cut out after the first commercial break and during relief pitcher Katz' second inning of work, just caught the strike 3 to the second batter. Knowing there was an interruption it just seemed a long time then sure enough, part of the game was lost. I agree with the first Anonymous writer, that it would have been nice to learn about the individual players more.............but I am sure after a few long bus rides you will also know those who were still with the Outlaws after that game.
